About Yanbuna
Yanbuna is a local community platform run by people of Yanbu for the people of Yanbu. It brings into one place what used to be scattered across groups and links that left no trace: the city's weddings, condolences, congratulations and news, alongside a directory of local technicians and businesses. The platform began operating in 2026 and is based in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
Why the platform exists
Announcing a social occasion in Yanbu meant messages copied from one group to the next: they arrived late or not at all, and left nothing anyone could look up afterwards. The platform gives an occasion a single source: it is published once after human review, reaches the people who chose to receive it, and stays in a searchable public archive.
What we offer
- A public archive of occasions — weddings, condolences, congratulations and news, dated in both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars and searchable by anyone, with no account required.
- A technician directory — entirely free on both sides: residents pay nothing to reach a technician, and technicians pay nothing to be listed.
- A business directory — local businesses, services and occasion venues across the city.
- Opt-in notifications — reminders of upcoming occasions for people who subscribed, on the channels they agreed to and no others.
A community platform first
The core services are free for individuals and we do not intend to change that: posting, browsing, searching and reaching a technician carry no fee. Costs are covered by optional services for businesses and for anyone who wants their invitation broadcast more widely, described below.
How our messages reach you
We send a WhatsApp message only to someone who asked for one. Subscribing is an explicit action the person takes themselves — by turning on the subscription option on the site, or by messaging our number — and with every subscription we store the exact consent sentence that was shown, the date, and the channel it came from.
Message content is local and tied to the reason for subscribing: a wedding invitation sent by its host to the city, a reminder of an upcoming occasion, or a notice to a technician that a service request reached them. We do not sell lists, we do not share subscribers' numbers with anyone, and we do not use them for any purpose other than the one they were given for.
Messages can be stopped at any time: send «إلغاء» (stop) to our WhatsApp number, or turn the subscription off from your page on the site. It takes effect immediately and needs no reason.
Payments happen off the platform
There is no payment gateway on this site or inside WhatsApp conversations, and we never collect card or bank-account details. Paid services — broadcasting a wedding invitation, a featured congratulation, a monthly business-directory subscription, or a sponsorship — are requested through a form or a conversation; the amount is then agreed and settled by direct bank transfer off the platform, and the service is delivered afterwards.
Review before publication
Everything published passes a human reviewer before it appears or is sent, and the sender's mobile number must be verified first. Condolences are especially sensitive and time-bound, so we commit to reviewing them quickly. Anything we cannot verify is rejected.
